Dr. Painter D.M.D
Dr. Painter has owned 1st City Dental since 1998. Dr. Painter is passionate about dentistry and treats all of his patients like family! His whole goal here at 1st City Dental is to make the world a better place, one smile at a time!
Dr. Rex Painter is did his undergraduate studies at California State University in Los Angeles. He then obtained his dental degree from Medical College of Virginia. His hospital residency was done at the University of Florida. (Go Gators!)
Dr. Painter loves God, country and family! In his free time, he enjoys doing triatholons!

Dental Hygienist
Larisa
Larisa joined 1st City Dental in the beginning of 2023 but she began her career as a dental hygienist in 2005! Larisa has a gentle touch as well as a charming personality that patients love! In her free time, she likes to spend time with her friends and family. Her hobbies include hiking, cooking, traveling, and going for long walks along the beach!
Front Office
Andrea
Andrea joined our front office team in Summer of 2023 but has been in the dental field for over 15 years. Her broad knowledge about insurance and her excellent customer service makes her a great asset to our office! Andrea is originally from Long Island, NY but currently lives in St. Augustine, FL with her fiancé. In her free time, she loves spending time at the beach with her dog Makk as much as possible!
Dental Assistant
Esmeralda
Esmeralda is from Crescent City, FL. She received her certification as a dental assistant from First Coast Technical College in July 2023. Esmeralda is bilingual and is exceling at chairside dental assisting.
In her spare time, she enjoys doing puzzles, listening to audio books, drawing, cooking, and tending to her plants! Esmeralda has been a great addition to our team!

Office Manager/Dental Hygienist
Bethany
Bethany has been working at 1st City Dental since 2012. She started her career as a dental hygienist in 2011 where she graduated from Pensacola State. Bethany is originally from Alabama but has roots planted in St. Augustine, FL. Bethany has 2 beautiful children, Kaiden and Kaley. In her free time, Bethany enjoys shopping, going to the beach, and spending time with her family.
Dental Assistant
Sherrill
Sherrill graduated from First Coast Technical College in 2009 as a certified dental assistant. Sherrill began assisting at 1st City Dental in 2018 and returned in Spring 2023. She has a passion for dental assisting it shows! Sherrill is a native of St. Augustine, FL. When Sherrill isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with her 3 beautiful daughters and hanging out with her family.

Amy
Amy has been a Dental Hygienist for over 36 years. She loves knowing that she works in a profession helping to improve the health of others.
Amy grew up in Jacksonville, Florida …
But now lives in beautiful St. Augustine. She adores spending time with family which now includes a precious new granddaughter. Decorating the home, working together with her husband designing the landscaping and watching wildlife is very relaxing for them…So is a trip to Costa Rica!!
Amy’s family is a circle of strength and love, founded on faith, joined by love, kept by God, together forever.
